Engaging the Public and Private Sectors
Enabling dignity in urban displacement and informal camps
RPI encourages its refugee-led and community partners to scale relief operations through:
- Incentivizing the private sector to allocate, subsidize, and/or upgrade urban housing rentals
- Engaging private and public stakeholders in training, formally employing, and protecting refugees and vulnerable locals
- Collaborating with municipal offices, public and private hospitals to facilitate access to civil documentation and health care
- Engaging the private sector to purchase or help sell humanitarian goods made by crisis-affected populations and to make aid more sustainable and eco-friendly
RPI co-designed and supported multiple shelter upgrade projects with refugee-led partners to improve living conditions for IDPs in northwest Syria
